Privacy Policy
This covers the Bits of Redwood games and this website.
Bits of Redwood LLC is a one-person game studio in Utah. When this page says “we”, that’s who it means. Questions about anything here go to support@bitsofredwood.com.
The short version
Our games collect nothing about you. The only way anything of yours reaches us is an email you decide to send. The rest of this page is the detail.
Our games
Our games, on iPhone and on Steam, don’t collect personal information and don’t send us anything about you. You never create an account with us. There are no ads, and we don’t include any analytics or tracking code.
Your progress and settings are saved on your device. If iCloud or Steam Cloud is on, a copy is also kept in your own account so it can follow you to another device. We can’t see or open that copy.
Some games show a short list of our other games, downloaded from our website so we can change it without an update. The request doesn’t say which game or player is asking, and we don’t record what you tap. Cloudflare handles the download the way it handles any visit to this site.
Apple and Steam
Apple runs the App Store, along with features like Game Center and iCloud. Valve runs Steam, including its achievements and cloud saves. Each one processes your purchases and stores what its own features need, under its own privacy policy: Apple’s and Valve’s. We never see your payment details. Signing in to Game Center is up to you, and if you do, other players can see your nickname and scores.
If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone’s Analytics & Improvements settings, Apple may pass us crash reports and usage statistics that Apple says don’t identify you. Steam gives us totals, like sales, that don’t identify anyone either.
When you email us
Each game has buttons that start an email. Send feedback goes to feedback@bitsofredwood.com, and Report a bug or Get help goes to support@bitsofredwood.com. The email may start with the game’s name and version, your type of device and its system version. Delete any of that before you send if you’d rather. Nothing goes out until you send it from your own email app.
However you write to us, we keep your email address and message so we can reply and follow up. We use them for nothing else, and we delete them when you ask.
This website
The site has no forms or cookies, and we don’t run analytics on it. It’s hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and basic browser details to deliver pages and block attacks, under its own privacy policy.
Sharing
We don’t sell personal information or share it with advertisers. The only outside companies involved are the ones named above, doing the jobs described.
Children
Our games are made for a general audience, and we don’t ask anyone’s age. If we learn that an email came from a child under 13, we reply once at most and then delete it. A parent or guardian can also ask us to delete anything their child sent.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. Email support@bitsofredwood.com and we’ll answer within a month. If a request takes longer to sort out, we’ll tell you within that month.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top. A game update that collects something new won’t ship before the policy says so.
